Sisterhood

We invite you to engage with, and be part of, our beloved Mosaic Law Congregation Sisterhood. We are a vibrant group, welcoming all genders, that provides spiritual, financial, and friendly support both within and outside the Mosaic Law Congregational community. We are a great place to network, make friends, and deepen our commitment to our local, national, and international organization of Jewish women.

Our chapter is part of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ), which through the Torah Fund, provides financial support for United Synagogue’s seminaries and scholarships for future rabbis, cantors and religious school administrators. Your membership dues support top-notch regional and national programming. Be sure to check out our region’s website, NxNW, North by Northwest Region (wlcjregion.org) and the national website, www.wlcj.org, for a myriad of great and helpful resources.

Israel remains in the forefront of our hearts at Mosaic Law Congregation. Our Sisterhood stands firmly and proudly with the people and the State of Israel. We support the Jewish homeland and do not get involved in political viewpoints or agendas. This past year, Sisterhood contributed funds to the Sacramento Jewish Federation’s campaign to support Ashkelon, our sister city in Israel. We also brought very prominent speakers from Israel directly to Mosaic Law Congregation via Zoom as well as provided a way for our members to enjoy Israeli cinema from home (check out our link to Izzy). Additionally, we are proud sponsors of the Sacramento Jewish Federation’s annual Jewish Film Festival.

Within MLC , Sisterhood is a pillar of support for the entire congregation. We help support our religious school with funding and scholarships as well as camperships for Jewish camping and Israel trips. We also provide a place to meet, connect, and relax in our beautiful, redesigned Kesher Café and Judaica Shop. We are so appreciative of the support and donations to create such a warm and inviting environment for synagogue members to meet.

One of our most vital programs is the Sisterhood Meal of Condolence program which provides solace and support for congregational members in mourning. Please consider becoming part of this important team of mitzvah makers for our members in their time of need.

Here is your opportunity to develop meaningful friendships and become a more integrated member of our wonderful community.

Check back on this page for more information about our annual Torah Fund Program and our signature Purim event. In addition, each spring, our members create an inviting and beautiful Shabbat. We hope you will join us for this lovely and spiritual service.

We invite you to become involved in our meaningful opportunities to share and belong to our beloved Mosaic Law Congregation communal life through Sisterhood.
